Support & help

How can we help you?

Quickly find answers to your questions about the Gout-Cha! app.

📱Using the app

How do I add a food to my journal?
Three ways: talk to Cha! in plain language ("I ate salmon"), take a photo of your plate for automatic detection, or search the 1,000+ food database. Adjust the quantity, and it's logged.
How does the AI assistant work?
Cha! is your gout copilot. Ask it anything about a food, a medication or a symptom — it answers instantly using USDA / NIH data.
How do I log a gout flare?
From the dedicated tab, log the intensity, the affected joints, the likely triggers and even a photo. The app then cross-references this with your diet.
How do I track my hydration?
Log each glass of water in one tap, or ask Cha!. The app tracks your progress toward the daily goal (2 L by default) and sends smart reminders.
How do I see my stats and charts?
The Analytics tab shows your purine, hydration and flare trends. All your charts are free; Premium unlocks advanced analytics, correlations and exporting your data.

💳Subscription & Premium

What's the difference between free and premium?
Free covers the essentials: unlimited Cha!, purine tracking, hydration, flares and 3 chat-logged meals/day (unlimited manual entry). Premium unlocks unlimited chat logging, uric acid tracking, advanced analytics and PDF export of your data. See pricing →
How much is the premium subscription?
Premium is €9.99/month or €59.99/year (≈ €5/month, −50%). A 7-day trial is included, no commitment.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel from your App Store account (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Subscriptions). Your data stays accessible after returning to free.

🛠️Technical issues

The app isn't syncing
Check your connection, then close and reopen the app. Make sure you're on the latest version from your store. Still stuck? Write to us at support@cagoutte.app.
I can't find a food in the database
Try a more generic term, or take a photo of the dish: Cha! will estimate the purines even for a composed meal not in the database.
How do I export my data for my doctor?
With Premium, generate a complete PDF report in one tap (purines, hydration, flares, medications) ready to show or send to your doctor.

🔒Account & data

Is my data secure?
Your information is personal health data and treated as such, in line with GDPR. You can request its deletion at any time.
How do I delete my account?
You can request permanent deletion of your account and data from the Delete account page, in line with GDPR.

⚕️Medical information

Can the app replace my doctor?
No. Gout-Cha! is a daily tracking tool that complements your medical treatment. It does not replace a diagnosis, a prescription, or the advice of a healthcare professional.
Where does the purine data come from?
From official nutrition databases: USDA FoodData Central, ANSES and the scientific literature (PubMed, EULAR), with Kaneko 2014 purine thresholds.
What's the recommended purine threshold?
The generally recommended goal is to stay under 400 mg of purines/day. The app tracks this budget in real time. This threshold is indicative: follow your doctor's advice.
