Everything you wonder
about gout — and the app.

Gout is a partly genetic condition, not a fault. Here are clear, sourced, guilt-free answers — about diet, uric acid and the app.

Diet and gout

No food is completely off-limits — it's the quantity that matters. Some foods very high in purines raise uric acid faster and are worth limiting:

  • Red meats: beef, lamb, pork
  • Organ meats: liver, kidneys, sweetbreads (very high in purines)
  • Seafood: anchovies, sardines, mackerel, mussels, shrimp
  • Game: venison, wild boar, pheasant
  • Alcohol: beer in particular, as well as spirits
  • Sugary drinks: sodas and juices high in fructose
  • Concentrated meat broths
